Two numbers help more than anything: engineers hired last year, and how many left inside 12 months.

    10 Questions

What Teams Ask Before They Book

The answers I give on the call, written down so you can read them first.

How do you conduct a structured interview?

Same questions, same order, same scale, for every candidate in the round. Write the scorecard before the question, so you know what a strong answer contains. Structured interviews explain about 26% of on-the-job performance. An unstructured conversation explains about 4%. Same hours, same people, 6 times the signal.

How do you lead a debrief meeting?

Ratings go up simultaneously, before anyone speaks. Then restate the role. The lowest rating speaks first, never the hiring manager. Spend the middle on the disagreements, because that is where the information is. The hiring manager decides at the end, on the record, with the reason written down.

How do you conduct a panel interview?

Give each interviewer one signal to own, and tell them which one. Four people asking the same questions produces 1 opinion, 4 times. Panels also push nervous candidates below their real level. Two interviewers per round with different assignments produces more evidence than 4 in one room.

How do you reject a candidate politely?

Say no quickly and give 1 specific reason they can act on. Silence is the thing people remember and repost. Feedback that names a gap costs you 10 minutes and buys goodwill. Keep it factual and about the role. Never send a paragraph that could apply to anyone.
